Rosatom plans to establish a joint venture with the Dutch Lagerwey on wind power in summer

State corporation Rosatom plans to announce in the summer of this year the creation of a joint venture to produce components of wind power plants with the Dutch Lagerwey, which are planned to be built in Russia.

On Monday in Moscow at the Atomexpo-2017 forum, JSC OTEK (part of Rosatom, implementing wind energy projects) and Lagerwey signed a licensing agreement on the transfer of technology to the Dutch company to organize manufacturing of windturbine components. The agreement includes obligations to localize the production of these components in Russia in the amount of more than 65%.

“The next step is the creation of a joint venture, which will be announced this summer,” the materials for the signing said, PRIME reported.

Earlier, Rosatom chose Lagerwey as its partner in the creation of wind power plants in Russia. The production of components for wind power plants is planned to be localized at the machine-building plant of Rosatom “Atommash” in Volgodonsk (Rostov region).

Projects on wind energy Rosatom considers as one of its promising non-nuclear “growth points”. In 2016, the state corporation won a tender for the construction of three wind power plants in Adygea and Krasnodar region with a total capacity of 610 MW. In June of this year, Rosatom, following the results of the contest of investment projects on renewable energy sources, received the right to build about 360 MW of wind power capacity in Adygea, Krasnodar region and Kurgan region.

The first is planned to build such a wind farm in Adygea, in Shovgenovsky and Giaginsky municipal districts of the republic. This station will consist of 60 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 150 MW.
